Firm History

In 2004, Craig Erickson founded Erickson & Wessman as “Erickson & Associates.” Craig had spent the previous 28 years at a medium size law firm in downtown Minneapolis, practicing in the areas of trusts and estates; commercial and residential real estate; business organization; mergers and banking law. Craig, wanting to specialize in the area of his true passion, formed a boutique law firm that would help a wide range of individuals and families with their estate and business succession planning needs.  The firm’s growth is attributable to Craig’s desire to help every client, regardless of financial situation, succeed in achieving his or her estate planning and business objectives.

During its initial five years, the firm experienced significant growth and, in 2009, Cory Wessman joined the firm. Cory practiced in the areas of estate planning and estate administration at a large downtown law firm.  In 2013, Cory became a shareholder, and the firm’s name became Erickson & Wessman.  The firm continues to dedicate itself to offering its clients the security of knowing that they have done the planning required to meet their family’s objectives. Continuing its steady growth, the firm hired Ryan Damhof in 2016 as an associate attorney. The firm and its clients will benefit from Ryan’s experience as a trust officer at a local major trust company.
